Plating is a surface. Treat it like one and it lasts a long time; put it through perfume, chlorine and a hot shower and it will not. Everything below is the difference.

Remove jewellery before bathing, swimming, or exercising.

Keep away from perfume, lotion, hairspray, and cleaning products.

Clean gently
Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe your jewellery after use to maintain shine.

Store safely
Store in a jewellery box or soft pouch to prevent scratches and tangling.
Cleaning, step by step

Prepare a bowl with lukewarm water and a few drops of mild dish soap.

Soak your jewellery for two to three minutes.

Gently brush with a soft toothbrush to remove any dirt.

Rinse with clean water and pat dry with a soft cloth.
Do this only when the piece actually needs it. A dry wipe after wearing does more for plating over a year than a monthly soak.
